The Safety Perception Survey Results (August 2025 – March 2026) report offers encouraging answers to these important questions. Based on eight months of consistent community feedback, the findings show a measurable rise in residents’ sense of safety across Philippi East.

Between August 2025 and March 2026, 3,822 residents participated in monthly surveys conducted along key transport corridors and neighbourhood streets. Over this period, the percentage of residents who reported feeling safe increased steadily, rising from 25.4% to 37.8%— an overall improvement of 12.4 percentage points.

These positive shifts reflect the growing impact of visible safety efforts across the precinct, including increased patrols by local safety teams and enhanced collaboration with law enforcement partners. Most notably, residents reported the strongest improvements on their own streets — a powerful sign that safety gains are being felt where it matters most: close to home.

This report forms part of PEDI’s ongoing commitment to evidence-based planning and transparent reporting. By tracking community perceptions month by month, the Safety Perception Survey helps identify areas of progress, highlight ongoing challenges, and guide future interventions to strengthen safety across Philippi East.

We invite you to explore the full report to learn more about how safety perceptions are changing across different streets and what these trends mean for the future of our community.
